Oh My, Golfing with family!

I've been playing golf for over 10 years, you'd think my handicap would reflect that, 😄lol. I can think back on so many great rounds with friends and some good shots that stand out, however nothing really compared to the first rounds with both my kids on the course. I had a season in my life where I got cynical with the game and would say, 4 hours to play golf! That's too long. However now spending that time, with them on the course. I view that time as priceless. Although we typically play nine holes and an average round is in the ball park 1-2 hours. Oh, how cool was it to see my son light up with a drive that flies through the air! And my daughter grinning from ear to ear because a put rolls in unexpectedly from 15 feet! That is cool.
Getting to share all the highs and lows they experience on the course is so much fun. I get to talk to them and share how their self talk (after a bad shot) really has an affect on their performance not just on the course but everywhere. I get to see them go to the next tee box and reload and give it another go. I know it sounds cliché, but the game does really mirror the challenges we face in life. We haven't stopped going golfing regularly and with the help of Youth On Course, we hope to play a lot more. Bigger courses as their skills develop and we'll get to see some really cool views & animals on some of my favorite courses, when the time is right.
Tee it up & Stay Inspired,
MG
